Human Influences

Humans influence the freshwater biome in many different aspects. Most of the water ways that humans damage of influence badly are freshwater. For example, the picture to the left demonstrates human waste being dumped into a freshwater lake. This waste can be toxic to the creatures that live in the freshwater biome. This also damages the water and prevents humans from being able to use that water.

Another example of human influences are demonstrated by the wild life. As the picture to the rights demonstrates, animals suffer just as much as the environment. Fauna suffer just as much, if not more then any other organism in the freshwater biome. Animals in freshwater biomes die from the way humans carelessly use an abuse the water usage. Not only that but animals are killed or taken from their home for human uses like pets and food.

Furthermore by using the water constantly humans are slowly but surly drying up what little freshwater we have left in the world. Things like using a sprinkler everyday or doing a load of washing use the most water in a normal household. To prevent freshwater ways from drying up completely humans need to consider using far less water to preserve the little water we have left.
Humans influence the way the water is used and how much of it is used. Humans take the water for granted, as freshwater is used for drinking, showers, energy, irrigation and much more. Freshwater biomes will eventually dry up if the water is not rationed properly and used far less. Humans have total control of how much water is used and when it is used, therefore humans have a major effect on freshwater biomes. However global warming is also to blame. As the Earth heats up more, the waterways dry up much quicker. This is due to evaporation and humans using more water to keep cool. However humans are behind global warming, so there is no one else to blame. Therefore humans have a massive effect on freshwater biomes.
