Facts
There are many different types of animals that live in the freshwater biome. However some of the fauna that lives in the water can live on the land. For example amphibians live on land and in the water. It’s believed over seven hundred types of fish live in freshwater biomes and there are over one thousand two hundred species of various other animals that live in the freshwater biome. Freshwater has some of the more commonly known animals, as it’s the most common biome.
Some animals such as fish has adapted to the different climates. This is evident as fish can survive in hot or cool water. During the warmer weather the fish live in a comfortable temperature in the water, whereas in the cooler months fish swim to find warmer currents and tend to stay there until the cool months are over. Some animals found in the freshwater biome are fish, frogs, dragonflies, otters, mosquitos, various other insects, fish and amphibians.

*Because of the variety of animals living in the freshwater biome, there are a lot of predator-prey relationships.
