Dragonfly: Structual Adaptations
Dragonflies are unique in their own special way. Dragonflies have bullet shapped bodies to help them to dodge preditors. The bullet shapped bodies also helps the dragonfly to change direction quickly when flying away from danger. Additionally, the dragonfly has large eyes to help see, also allowing them to spot more potentioal preditors or danger. Furhtermore, the wings of a dragonfly are most important structual detail. This is due to the wings being able to create whirlwinds which allow the dragonfly to fly so fast. A dragonfly has six legs, like any other insect. However the legs serve for a very good purpose. The long, spikey legs that help make a snagging net. Whilst the dragonfly has eyes to spot food, it would mean nothing without the labrum, mandible and labium form its mouth-parts. The dragonfly mouth-parts are very good at biting, adapted for predation. All the examples above are examples of structual adaptations for the drangonfly.
